Commitment no. 2
Cultivating lasting relationships with our partnering producers
For over 35 years, Menguy’s has forged close relationships with its partnering producers, establishing long-lasting partnerships based on mutual trust. This proximity to our suppliers allows us to work directly with them, and to guarantee our consumers access to the best batches of products with impeccable organoleptic (taste, smell, appearance, texture) and sanitary properties.
Controlled supply chains, thanks to direct procurement
At Menguy’s, all our purchases are direct, and this reflected, in particular, in our sourcing of peanuts: our main raw material. Our teams regularly travel to producing countries to monitor our various nut supply chains. This approach not only allows us to best assess changes in the harvest, but also to select the best raw materials produced.
In order to guarantee the availability of raw materials throughout the year, we have established various channels for all our nuts (peanuts, cashews, pistachios, olives, maize and almonds) in both hemispheres. These stretch from Argentina to the USA, via Europe, Asia, and Africa, illustrating Menguy’s expertise in finding the best varieties and origins around the world, with a view to supplying quality products.

At the heart of all our actions lie impeccable ethics and demanding quality requirements
Ethics are a fundamental value for Menguy’s. We select our products, suppliers, and employees based on our values, which are centred around respect and sustainable development.
We impose strict requirements on our raw material and packaging suppliers. We highlight our GFSI-recognised food safety certifications, such as BRC and IFS, to our partners, and the vast majority of our suppliers meet the same food certification standards. This ensures a consistently high level of quality throughout our supply chain.
For example, 93% of the tonnage we receive comes from suppliers with GFSI certification (IFS, BRC, SQF), with 74% sourced from suppliers with CSR certification (SMETA, BSCI).
The GFSI certification, which stands for “Global Food Safety Initiative”, proves that globally recognised standards in terms of food safety have been complied with, which assures us as a buyer that the goods have been produced, processed, and handled under safe conditions. The CSR certification, which stands for “Corporate Social Responsibility”, is a guarantee that our suppliers are committed to sustainable development and that they take action regarding social and environmental issues, in particular, by limiting their impact.
Social engagement
In addition to our commitment to product quality, we are also involved in social initiatives. One prime example is our cashew nut project in Madagascar, launched in 2016. In partnership with local players, we have helped to reintroduce cashew tree cultivation in this country. This project has helped to improve the living conditions of local producers in our 10 partner villages and promotes access to property. In 2023, these villages obtained “Organic” certification, underlining the producers’ commitment to sustainable, environmentally-friendly practices. In addition, a shelling workshop has been set up on site, generating 207 jobs and strengthening links with the local community.

Through our sustainable partnerships, direct procurement, strict ethical standards, and our social and environmental commitment, we strive to offer snack consumers the highest quality products, while making a positive contribution to the communities and environment in which we operate.
